Writing a folktale!

This term we have been working on our writing skills. We read the folktale from India called The Tiger Child image
All the children did some research on a wild animal they would like to write their story on. They also had to think carefully about the domestic animal it will turn into by the end of the story. Lots of amazing ideas like; rat into mouse, fox into dog, wolf into dog, eagle into budgie. The children followed the same story structure and created their own folktale. All the children wrote their first drafts then they had to edit and make improvmets to their work before typing it up and checking for correct punctuation.

The children then transferred their folktale stories into books with illustrations.

Finally the whole class went down to KS1 Poplar class and read their stories to the children.
